In a bid to strengthen security at the country's borders , twenty new battalions of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) will be raisedo, Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil has said.

Parliament has already passed a resolution in this regard, he said at convocation parade function of SSB in Srinagar-Garhwal near Kotdwar ( Uttarakhand) on Sunday.

Highlighting the threat posed by the terrorist acts to the security of the nation, the Home Minister said: "More resources need to be invested on our security. Twenty new battalions of SSB will be raised to make its border security operations more effective."
