Aiming to workout together
in anti-terror strategy, Indian and Chinese Red Army
troops iare all set to carry out their first ever joint
military exercise in mountains of Kunming in Yunnan
province from 19th December , the army officials said
in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Giving the details about
the historic event, the army officials said that 88
troops and officers from India and an equal number of
personnel from the Chinese army would take part in anti-terror
tactics for nine days in the Yunnan highlands.
"The personnel would
be divided into groups and carry out anti-terror manouvres
including cordon and search operations, heliborne operations
and other operations during the exercises", the
army official said.
Further elaborating on
the day of exercise, they said that the dates and venue
for the exercises was fixed during meetings a Chinese
Red Army delegation had with their Indian counterparts
in the Eastern Army Command headquarters at Fort Williams
in Kolkata.
