Assenting to launch a
technical expansion hub in India, Wipro Technologies
the flagship global IT services business of Wipro Ltd
has signed an accord to work with BAE systems on commercial
aerospace projects. The agreement was signed by the
Wipro Technologies and BAE systems on 29th November
2007 in Bangalore.
Marking the latest event,
BAE Systems VP India, Mike Mendoza said, "This
is an important partnership and the start of what we
hope will be a very successful relationship for both
Wipro and BAE Systems. BAE Systems has chosen a world
class long term partner in India with the expertise
to help improve product competitiveness. Wipro is an
internationally renowned company with excellent technical
capability and high business performance business that
fits well with BAE Systems."
According to this agreement,
both the companies will set up a technical development
centre in India to work on ventures enveloping a range
of systems for BAE Systems Platform Solutions in the
commercial Aerospace sphere.
In the latest agreement,
Wipro offers BAE Systems its ace quality of product
engineering leadership that leverages on profound technology
implementation knowledge attained after a hard work
of twenty years.
Highlighting the WIPRO'S
intrinsic worth, Chief Operating Officer, Wipro Technologies,
Dr. A. L. Rao said, "Wipro is proud to partner
with an acknowledged leader like BAE Systems on commercial
aerospace initiatives. Our proven Global Delivery Model
and domain specific quality certifications like AS 9100,
coupled with our demonstrated capability in complex
product engineering will provide faster time to market
advantage to BAE for new product developments and also
aid in making BAE systems products and services more
competitive."

On the other hand, BAE
Systems programs will benefit through a concentrated
engineering talent consortium, access to new markets
and flexible business models that will facilitate them
to bring out great performance at customers end.
Besides, the partnership
is on the footsteps of a Memorandum of Agreement signed
by BAE Systems and Wipro in June, 2007. To begin with,
the agreement is with BAE Systems Electronics and Integrated
Solutions, but in the extended period, these provisions
will potentially expand to other BAE Systems business
units as well.
