New Delhi, November 30, 2007 (DefenceIndia News Service)

In a bid to boost up the existing military ties between the two countries, India and Vietnam has decided to enhance bilateral defence cooperation in the areas of military technology exchange, shipbuilding and radars.

According to a release, the decision was taken at the third meeting of the third India-Vietnam Security Dialogue held on Tuesday.

"The existing bilateral cooperation activities were reviewed by both the sides and it was agreed to further enhance overall bilateral defence cooperation between the two countries particularly in the areas of training, supply of naval spares, military technology exchange, shipbuilding and radars," it said.

The Indian side at the meeting was led by Defence Secretary Vijay Singh.
