| How did Tyco happen in India |
|
Sixteen Months back Tyco started its India office with marine and aero products and in short span today we have five manufacturing plants at Bangalore. Focus of our India office has been on sales and marketing. Our market in India has been both defence and civil sectors. We have separate product ranges for Army, Navy and Air force. In next three years we see our company growing in positive directions with its profits growing. |

| In the growing role of international players how do you see the Indian Govt’s Offset Policy |

| It is important step in making Indian Defence Industry self reliant, this lays importance on knowledge sharing and technology sharing in the Industry. As part of the new offset policy Indian companies will get big boost and this lays importance on Joint ventures and tie ups. As Tyco already has its manufacturing units in India it looks at having joint ventures with Indian companies. during Def Expo we look forward to such networking and will be in talks with many Indian companies. |

| How do you see Def Expo as a platform for International companies |
|
Over last few years Def Expo, New Delhi has become an important event for the company where we show case our products. This is an opportunity not only to show case our products but also an opportunity to network and market our products both in Indian and Asian Market. Def Expo also is a platform to learn about international trends, companies and medium to open up to our customers. The response at Def Expo has been very positive we have received queries and as we are a company with its Indian office we look at Def Expo as an important event for companies growth and development. |

Our Initial Strategy in India was to introduce and manufacture simple components to market our products and develop our base in India, today we have introduced more sophisticated solutions, as we see India as a growing strategic partner. We aim to grow the engineering capacity of our India Office.

We have various range of products for Aero Industry, Land Systems and the Marine Industry. |

Tyco has recently introduced Subminiature Aircraft Connector, this was originally designed for third generation cabin networks, this new connecter is seen as the next generation successor to replace subminiature-D and costly circulars. |

Tyco Electronics is also developing a new connector series suitable for the new future combat systems that are being designed for infantry soldiers. Tyco electronics have also introduced Harn Ware harness design software’s latest revision with number of improvements, Harn Ware harness design software is the premier design suite used in the military and aerospace electronics industry. |

| How has the response at Def Expo been… |

The response to Def Expo has been very good and encouraging we have received queries not only from India but also from various South East Asian and developing countries. As a response to Def Expo we have plans to have an full fledged manufacturing unit in India which will be technologically advanced to produce products which can be Exported to developed countries of Western Europe and USA. |
