Samvedna,
a Not for Profit unit, was started by DefenceIndia
(www.defenceindia.com) with the purpose of bringing a positive
change in the lives of our soldiers and their families. The
founder trustees are Aman Bandvi, Rajesh Dixit and Harmeet
Singh, who have conceived and developed India's first portal
on defence, DefenceIndia.
Vision:
To bring a positive, tangible and assured change in the lives
of our soldiers.
Mission:
The main object for the Trust shall be:
- To protect and conserve nature
that is situated near the habitat of security forces or
has faced some changes due to the projects or activities
carried out by our security forces while in their course
of duty.
- To advocate the cases/issues/concerns
and bring to the fore issues, that concern/are related to
the security forces, its incumbents and their dependent
families.
- To create a sound base for our security
agencies to carry out their duties in far-flung areas/un-inhabitable
areas/risky areas/rural areas/tribal areas, before, while
and after the project, so as to create warmth among the
inhabitants of the area for the security personnel.
- To assist the security agencies
in cultural adaptation in their choice of activity
areas.
- To assist the security forces in
reaching out to the inhabitants of their choice of
activity areas.
- To conceive, design and implement
projects that shall be aimed to ameliorating the
conditions of our security agencies while on duty, or while
off-duty.
Plans
for 2006 Last quarter: To adopt areas in the border
areas and far flung reaches of the country and assist the
forces deployed to ease the discomfort of the inhabitants
of the region with innovative projects that will help improve
the living conditions and generate warmth and goodwill for
the soldier.
Annual
Budget: Rs 5 Lakhs to Rs 25 Lakhs.
Nature
of Interventions: Nature Conservation, Activist, Advocacy,
Grassroots & Rural Implementing.
