Corporate
Social Responsibility towards Defence Officers ?
Yes, the defence sector is the least represented when it
comes to corporate assistance - Be it for advocacy of their
concerns and complaints rederessals, Education, Rehabilitation,
Cultural Adjustments while in Far Flung areas where inhabitants
do not take warmly to uniform, Rural Advancement, Nature conservation
in militancy affected areas, Borders et al.
Take a quick look at the serious concerns before us:
- Every year more than 40,000 defence personnel retire and
majority of soldiers retire at an early age of less than
40...!
- The Sixth pay commission is not adequately represented
by members of the forces.
- This year, on March 23rd, veterans who were rendered invalid
in action Burned their artificial limbs in protest against
non-payment of promised dues even after decades !
- The Government has also agreed to a high level of stress
among personnel and recently recommended Yoga, which was
carried in all frontline newspapers..!
Are we doing enough then, to safeguard the interests of our
sentinels, who put their lives at stake for our better tomorrow?
We have shortlisted a couple of projects of Interest:
| |
Advocation of rights of ex-servicemen
who have not received their dues. |
| |
Advocation of pay-parity with
civilian organisations for defence personnel |
| |
Beautification of Border areas
like Wagah, Indo-China borders, Khyber pass... |
| |

| |
Adoption of affected families
of defence personnel, wounded/dead during the course of
their duty. |
| |

to ground truths, so they can perform to the best of their
ability. |
| |
