Executive Brief
DefenceIndia is a management
consultancy that aims to create synergy between the defence
departments in Asia, the corporate sector and the general
public. It is a thought-provoker and a pathfinder for issues
related to defence, the forces, the persons in uniform and
the industry.
It is visible currently as an
online repository of Defence News, Features and Archives and
is currently the most visited online thought provoker on defence
topics.
It also has an annual print
version, a summarized view of the major features. This print
newsletter has a restricted but niche circulation amongst
think-tanks, bureaucrats, opinion leaders, media, academics
and officers.
DefenceIndia is at the forefront
of innovations (events, surveys, seminars) and initiatives
that aim to create a broad base of well-wishers for those
working in the Defence Forces.
DefenceIndia assists corporate
entities in reaching out the best talent base available, the
ex-defence officers.
In the immediate past:
- DefenceIndia conceived and launched the DefenceIndia
Excellence Awards in January 2007; a concept that felicitated
ex-servicemen for their post-defence pursuits. The response
from across the board was very encouraging. The second edition
of the awards are scheduled for early 2008.
- DefenceIndia assisted in the innovative seminar on 'the
new offsets policy' and 'project management in the Indian
context'.
- DefenceIndia conceived and conducted a cultural event
for the BSF Bordermen and Wagah and felicitated the senior
officers of BSF.
- DefenceIndia is the official media partner for Network
Centric Warfare 2006 at Singapore. It continues to associate
with critical seminars and events round the globe.
- DefenceIndia was the official media partner for Air Dominance
2007 at New Delhi in Jan 2007.
- DefenceIndia conceived and organized an event at Wagah
Border, in 2005, that had our team collect Rakhi's from
all parts of the nation and symbolically tie them to the
Jawaans on either side of the borders.
- DefenceIndia was one of the online sponsors of major
International shows, like Fighter Conference in Singapore,
Coastal Surveillance 2005, Dominant Battleship Knowledge
Asia and Littoral Defence 2005. It shall be seen in 2006
at the Network Centric Warfare and APS Asia, Singapore and
Hong Kong respectively.
- DefenceIndia conducted nationwide surveys on topics relevant
to the Indian Defence Forces.
- The first one, on Whether Conscription should be made
compulsory and the second, on Whether ex-defence officers
are a good asset for corporate companies.
- Both were well-received by the industry, the forces
and the press.
- DefenceIndia strengthened its web initiatives and major
companies like Safran, Mazagaon Dock, Ikan Relocations,
Eisa et al have been the notable advertisers on the website.
- The web initiative has clocked a subscriber base of
10,000 from all across the globe.
- DefenceIndia has conceived A 'Career in the Indian Forces'
guide that shall be released in mid-2008.
- DefenceIndia has conceived a series of 'Career in
the Forces' workshops for school children that shall
start from late 2007 onwards.
- DefenceIndia has conceived a series of seminars in
2008.
- HR Seminar to understand the 'ex-serviceman as an
HR asset'.
- Seminar on 'Modernisation in the defence forces'
- Seminar / round table on 'media policy of our law
enforcement forces'.
Now, our new innovations
are shaping our 2008 vision.
- DefenceIndia has initiated an HR Cell. This cell has
started works on two fronts.
- Placement Assistance: DefenceIndia NOW assists
ex-servicemen to find the right jobs in the private
sector, that suits their expertise, experience and
temperament. Like wise, we assist corporates in scouting/recruiting
and nurturing perfect candidates who have had stints
in the defence or allied forces.
- Corporate Training: DefenceIndia NOW has a corporate
training cell, in which we assist professionals with
innovative training modules, both outbound and in-house
on leadership/team building/personality enhancement/risk
taking et al. We have also started a 'Corporate Acclimatization
Program'.
- DefenceIndia has started corporate relationship initiatives.
DefenceIndia aims to reach out to corporate entities and
initiate a dialogue wherein Corporate partnerships can be
cultivated. The seminar/panel discussion, Mastishq 2006,
is the maiden effort in this direction.
- DefenceIndia has initiated a Non-Government Organisation,
An NGO, SAMVEDNA, thatl:
- Brings to the fore, the issues relevant to the
defence forces.
- Assists in the rehabilitation of ex-servicemen,
across the board.
- The Innovative Initiatives have been strengthened.
- Our research project on, The Cultural Issues in
The Indian Army, is our latest initiative and shall
understand:
- The culture prevalent in the Indian Army vis
a vis Man Management, Performance Appraisals,
Innovations, Gender equality, Religious Equity
and 'While at War' and 'While in Peace' environs.

Our Core Team
Rajesh
Dixit
Chairman
Born 1967
Rajesh Dixit is the chairman
of Credence Communications Pvt. Ltd, the main corporate enterprise
that has DefenceIndia as its core initiative. A true visionary,
Rajesh laid the foundation for DefenceIndia in December 1998.
Since then, under his able leadership and guidance, DefenceIndia
has made remarkable strides in all spheres.
Hailing from an illustrious
family of academicians and entrepreneurs, Rajesh has a firm
foothold in his area of specialisation. An affable persona,
he is known for his charm and confidence in his wide circle
of friends and associates.
His knowledge and grasp of defence
related subjects, especially the defence industry, are enviable.
Rajesh has been closely associated with Image Management Advisories
and Strategic Planning for notable projects.
He leads the two prominent group
initiatives, 'Credence PR' and 'Credence Research and Analytics',
both management advisory firms.

Aman
Bandvi
Director and CEO
Born 1974
Aman is the CEO of the enterprise
and in charge of day to day operations. With him at the helm
of affairs, DefenceIndia initiated the pathbreaking 'DefenceIndia
Excellence Awards', The 'Research, Analytics and Think-Tank'
division, the annual 'Achievers' journal, stimulating seminars
and notable projects in community social responsiveness.
A voracious reader, Aman is
also associated as Editor of the DefenceIndia journal and
as a consulting editor with EXPAT.
He spearheads our 2008 division
that shall see DefenceIndia make new strides. He is also a
corporate trainer on his chosen topics like, 'spiritualism
at the workplace', The 'Bhagwad Gita and Management', 'Leadership
as enshrined in Sikhism' et al. He is also a cross cultural
trainer for expatriates coming into India.

Harmeet Singh
Director - Human Resources and Corporate Training
Born 1972
The affable soft-spoken Sardarji,
Harmeet Singh is the brain behind the 'Corporate Acclimatisation
Workshops', The 'Nature Trail' outbound training programs
on team building and the 'Leadership Treks'.
He heads the Human Resources
division, DefenceIndia Security Services, DefenceIndia Training
division and DefenceIndia 'niche' events division. He is also
a corporate trainer on team-building and leadership with over
500 hours of training under his belt.
Under his leadership, DefenceIndia
has nurtured a dynamic talent acquisition, training and retention
management advisory division.

Rajesh
Bhardwaj
Advisor - Strategy and Planning
Born 1972
A management consultant with
a decade of experience working for the Big 4, brings to the
board a multi-faceted expertise in business consulting, planning
and management of large projects. Rajesh is responsible for
business tie-ups, alliances and joint ventures. A spiritual
person, Rajesh currently spearheads the data research and
analytics initiatives.

Col.
Anil Shorey (Retd).
Advisor
Born 1950
Colonel Anil Shorey was commissioned
in May 1974 into 14 Punjab (Nabha Akal), a battalion once
commanded by his father who died during command in NEFA in
February 1963. Educated at Delhi Public School, Mathura Road
and Hindu college, Delhi, he is also a Post Graduate in English
and Defence Studies. He has had a firsthand experience in
Counter Insurgency Operations in Jammu & Kashmir and in
the North-East, apart from an exposure in the Andaman &
Nicobar Islands, the desert and high altitude sectors of India.
He holds twin Diplomas in Journalism from Dateline Delhi and
from Manchester, UK.
A Defence Services Staff College
graduate from Wellington, he commanded with distinction 15
Punjab, a 300 year old battalion, after which he has held
various prestigious appointments such as the Colonel General
Staff (GS) of 'Delta Force' in Doda (J&K), where he was
the chief coordinator of all counter terrorist operations.
Highly qualified in the field of Public Relations, he did
a tenure as PRO (Defence) of the Rajasthan and Gujarat Zone
for fifteen months as a Major. Following this, he did a 15
month stint overseas on promotion in Somalia and Rwanda, where
he was PRO and Chief Spokesman of the Indian Brigade that
operated there. He has also held prestigious staff appointments
at the Military Operations Directorate, Delhi, an armoured
brigade in the desert sector and at the Rashtriya Rifles (RR)
Directorate, Delhi, where he, as Director GS, was involved
with the 100% expansion and modernization of the RR Force
operating in J&K. A Kargil War veteran, he superannuated
from his last appointment as the PRO and Chief Spokesman Indian
Army, South Block, New Delhi. He continues to be an active
faculty member of the Centre of UN Peacekeeping, New Delhi,
and an active member of the Historical Research Division of
USI and MOD's Historical Section, all at Delhi.
A prolific writer and poet,
he has been awarded a number of international awards for prose
and poetic achievements. He contributes regularly to a number
of national and international newspapers and professional
journals. He has authored eight books on defense subjects,
two of which are being sold as bestsellers globally through
the famous retail and auction houses of Amazon.Com & E-Bay,
apart from finding their way to 200 universities of India
and seven universities oversees. Presently, apart from writing
many more books, he is pursuing creative writings, producing
quality audio-visual films and bringing out world class publications
under the personalised brand name - 'Force Multipliers'.
He is a motivational speaker
and trainer and has led many innovative training sessions
on leadership and team building and brings his rich and varied
defence experience on board.

Priyanka Charan
Senior Consultant
Born 1980
Priyanka is the omnipresent
manager who has the knack of finding needles in haystacks.
She brings in a wealth of experience in managing socially
relevant projects and Human Resources. Her strength lies in
recruitment strategies, career counseling and people management
skills. She is amrried to an Army Officer.
She leads a dynamic and young
team at DefenceIndia and is in charge of all critical projects
and operations.

K. Singh
Consultant
Born 1982
A passionate enthusiast, a
young army officer's wife, lends an exuberant charm to the
team. She is responsible for News Analyses, Features and News
Updations. She is also a prolific writer and has numerous
articles to her credit in the archives.

Atul
Singh
Consultant
Born: 1977
A trusted lieutenant, Atul has been with the DefenceIndia
teams since day one. He has been responsible for the website,
the way it has shaped up since its inception in 1998. A webmaster,
He takes care of the web initiatives. Atul has been closely
involved in media and networking projects for DefenceIndia.
