An ABSTRACT
The
report deals with the various motivations which have determined
Pakistan's interaction with Afghanistan.
Enough has been published about the on-going struggles in Afghanistan
and therefore details of various happenings in that country have
intentionally not been included, since they are very well known
and would be repetitive. The report discusses amongst other things
the ideological and military thoughts that have determined Pakistan's
outlook. It also examines the manner in which Pakistan has been
guided in formulating its military thoughts by Britain.
In so far as Afghanistan is concerned the
article studies the motivations that have determined Pakistan's
strategy in that unfortunate country, and Afghanistans current relations
with Pakistan.
In conclusion, the report briefly suggests the likely future scenario.
