Aeronautics research center to be set up in Casablanca

A center for aeronautics and space research and development is to be set up in Casablanca and to cost MAD 120 Million, about 12 million euros, under a convention signed in Rabat Friday by The French Teuchos company and the Moroccan government.

The signing ceremony was presided over by Moroccan Premier Driss Jettou, while the investment convention was initialled by Teuchos Managing Director Christian Mari and Safran Group Director General Dominique Hedon.

The project will help create some 400 engineer and senior technician positions. Under the convention, Teuchos will set a partnership with Moroccan Universities and schools to carry out various works to the benefit of Safran group.

The convention provides for the training of the 400 engineers and technicians who will be operational by 2010.

Teuchos, part of the SAFRAN Group, has specialised for over a decade in engineering services for the transport industry.

The Elancourt-based company core business is made up of a range of capabilities that are common to many sectors of industry: systems engineering, mechanical, automation engineering and energetics, electronics and industrial computing management and dependability RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety).
