HAL bags major orders for civil version of Dhruv

New Delhi, June, 24, 2005

The excellence of Advanced Light Helicopter - Dhruv has been once again acknowledged – now in civil role by placement of a major order by Oil and Natural Gas Corporation of India (ONGC).

ONGC has placed an order for three Dhruv helicopters worth over Rs.100 crores in civil role which will be delivered by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) shortly.Earlier in the year, HAL had received order for two Dhruv in civil version from Government of Jharkhand.

Further, Government of Karnataka has also entered into an agreement with HAL for lease of one Dhruv helicopter for VIP communication duties. These major orders prove the excellent capability, reliability as well as maintainability of Dhruv in civil role.
