Public sector aircraft maker Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd has contributed Rs 3.40 crore to the Prime Minister's relief fund for the Tsunami victims.

HAL Chairman Ashok K Baweja handed over a cheque to Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee at New Delhi this evening, a HAL statement said here.

HAL said its home-grown helicopter Dhruv Advanced Light Helicopters have been deployed for relief operations by the armed forces.
