Security forces have
unearthed two militant hideouts in Doda district and
recovered from them a huge quantity of arms and ammunition
during the last 24 hours, defence sources said on Monday.
During a search operation,
the forces unearthed a hideout at Malwas, three kms
west of Doda town on Sunday and recovered a cache of
arms kept in three polythene bags, they said.
The recoveries included
285 rounds of AK ammunition, six AK magazines, 10 Pika
ammunition, two Chinese grenades, three hand grenades,
one detonator and two radio set antennas.
Another natural cave type
hideout was jointly busted by Rashtriya Rifle troops
and police at Gurgara, seven kms South-East of Thathri
town in Doda district, they said.
The recoveries from the
hideout included 140 rounds of AK ammunition, 90 rounds
of SLR, two SLR magazines, two RPG grenades, 10 electric
detonator wires, 15 electric circuits, one battery holder,
one Motorala walkie-takie, one binocular and one photo
album.
The hideout was later
smashed by the security forces, the sources said.
Meanwhile, security forces
recovered two IEDs, 79 rounds of assorted ammunition,
two fuses, one hand grenade and one wireless set at
Krog in Kandi sector of Rajouri district on January
27.
