pre-conditions for talks with Vajpayee: Pak
Pakistan
Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has said there were no pre-condition
for talks with Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and there was "nothing
wrong" with his meeting President Pervez Musharraf. "There
is nothing wrong with it. They (Vajpayee and Musharraf) have already met when
I was not the Prime Minister. So, I don't see any reason why they should not meet,"
Jamali told 'NDTV 24 x 7.' "I think
it will be a very good and encouraging gesture from both sides. We, as the hosts,
will be more pliable. We expect Premier Vajpayee also in the same spirit. When
we are taking all this ahead, these small ifs and buts should be sidelined,"
he said. Jamali said there should be "no
reservations or pre-conditions" when they meet. "One should meet and
sit and talk openly. We have to give relief to the people of both countries. This
is the requirement," he said. The Pakistani
leader denied that terrorists were bred in the country. "Terrorists are neither
bred here nor encouraged....terrorim has become an international menace."
