Air Chief to visit Meghalaya from May 1

Shillong, April 28, 2005 (PTI)

Air Chief Marshal SP Tyagi will pay a two-day visit to Eastern Air Command (EAC) in Shillong from May 1, Defence sources said on Thursday.

During his visit, Tyagi will address the EAC station commanders' conference on May 2 and hold discussions with Air Officer commanding-in-chief of the EAC Air Marshal A Joshi and other senior officials of EAC, the sources said in Shillong on Thursday.

The four-day long commanders' conference will discuss important issues relating to operations, maintenance and administration of EAC, the sources said.

His wife Vandana Tyagi, also the president of the Air Force Wives Welfare Association, will address its members and hold discussions on the various welfare measures and future plans for the families of the air force personnel.

This would be Tyagi's maiden visit to EAC since taking over as the IAF chief, the sources said.
