Militant hideouts busted, arms found in J&K

Jammu, September 26, 2006 (PTI)

Two militant hideouts have been destroyed and arms and ammunitions were recovered in two separate operations in Rajouri and Poonch districts, officials said on Tuesday.

A militant hideout in Urdalwali Shahdra Sharief in Rajouri was busted by a joint team of Rashtriya Rifles and local police and one sub machine gun, one pistol and four hand grenades were recovered from it, they said.

In another incident, a hideout in Chamrade in Poonch was destroyed and seized two AK rifles and two hand grenades.

Meanwhile, unidentified militants have set ablaze the house of a Village Defence Committee member in Basantgarh area of Udhampur district.
