Pintle Mounted Machine Guns

FN HERSTAL's range of aircraft crew-served armaments includes a 7.62mm and a .50 Cal machine gun. These weapons can be installed externally, on floors or in windows and FN HERSTAL also supply the interfaces (pintles, etc), design, installation and integration of these in helicopters and aircraft.

The combination of the accuracy and high firing rate (1,100 rpm) of the MM3 .50 Cal machine gun with the outstanding performances of the MPH mount developed for airborne application (outstanding balance, light weight, recoil attenuation, wide angle of operation) offers the servant the key to mission success.

Rocket Lauchers

FN HERSTAL provides a full range of rocket launchers: 7-12 or 19 tubes for helicopters, 7 and 19 tubes for subsonic aircraft. All launchers benefit from a very rapid installation/removal time thanks to the standard NATO suspension lugs, and can be installed even on very light aircraft, thanks to their reduced weight.

Heavy Machine Gun Pods (HMP)

FN HERSTAL produces machine gun pods and combined rocket launcher and machine gun pods. These are independent units housing a .50 Cal M3P machine gun and have a capacity of up to 400 rounds (HMP-400). The high rate of fire (1,100 rpm per pod) of the MP3 machine gun makes the HMP pods the ideal armament for short combat ranges where target acquisition time is reduced.

Also available is the TMP-5, a pod featuring twin 7.62 NATO machine guns, providing accurate suppressive and defensive fire against troops and fast moving convoys up to 1,000m.

Machine Gun Ammunition

FN HERSTAL has developed a complete range of 7.62 and .50 Cal rounds that can be mixed on belt to meet the specific needs of the type of mission involved. Most is made of the M3M and M3P machine guns high rate of fire when coupled to the devastating effects of the APEI ammunition (Armour-piercing - Explosive - Incendiary).
