Surface Warfare Systems
RAFAEL provides you with the winning technology for your anti-surface
warfare needs with systems including ESM/ECM, point defense
missile system, small caliber gun system, optronic detection
and direction systems, expendable decoys, launchers, signature
reduction services and combat system integration.
SEWS/RAN-1110 is an operational, shipborne
integrated EW suite, synergizing the advanced capabilities
of an ESM subsystem based on the C-Pearl and ECM based on
the SHARK.
A compact, lightweight state-of-the-art ESM
system, RAFAEL's C-Pearl enables the automatic detection and
identification of threats in complex electromagnetic environments.
RAFAEL's ESM can be installed on missile gun boats, frigates
and aircraft carriers. It is fully qualified and operational
in conjunction with on-board radars and integrated with various
combat systems.
SHARK/RAN-1101 is an operational shipborne
electronic counter-measures (ECM) system with very high effective
radiated power (ERP). SHARK is capable of jamming and deceiving
a large number of threats simultaneously in different directions
using power management (PM) with sophisticated techniques
and trackers.
COMINT DIRECTION FINDING
SYSTEM
RAFAEL's RAF-5100 provides substantial improvements over conventional
Direction Finding (DF) techniques in accuracy, speed, immunity
from interference and detection probability. The RAF-5100
Super Resolution DF system is based on proprietary super resolution
algorithms and state-of-the-art DSP chips. It provides superior
direction finding capabilities, even in the presence of multipath.

RANGE, HEATRAP
RAFAEL's combat-proven decoys provide ship defense in all
stages of naval combat. RAFAEL's third generation decoy system
is designed to counter all modern threats and tactics. Featuring
three line of defense with real-time optimized decoys deployment,
a fixed or rotatable launching system, and a computerized
decoy controller, the decoys can be easily integrated with
ESM/ECM and C4I systems.
BARAK AIR DEFENSE
SYSTEM
The BARAK air defense system is a maintenance-free eight-cell
launcher, with vertical launch it uses radar CLOS guidance,
has very short reaction times and minimum range, 360º
azimuth coverage and high rate of turn.
ANTI-SUBMARINE WARFARE
SYSTEMS
RAFAEL has developed a concept for surface ship defense against
modern torpedoes which are fitted with ACCM. This Advanced
Torpedo Defense System (ATDS) consists of:
- A towed line array for long range sonar detection of torpedoes
(TDTA)
- The ATC-2 towed decoy which simultaneously transmits acoustic
signals and provides close range localization of the torpedo
- SCUTTER expendable, intelligent decoys
The ATC-2 covers the entire torpedo frequency band of 17-85
KHz, with a very high source level of 187 Pa at 1 meter. It
offers unique short dB/ range torpedo detection capabilities
to pinpoint incoming torpedoes.
TDTA is a mini-line towed array sonar, lightweight and just
eight meters long. TDTA provides a surface ship with long-range
torpedo detection and classification capabilities. It is easily
integrated with the ATC-2 towed decoy. During extensive sea
trials it has demonstrated outstanding performance.
UNDERWATER SUBMARINE
SYSTEM
RAFAEL offers a family of products which provide an excellent
defense capability against ASW torpedoes launched from surface
ships, submarines, helicopters and more. But that's not all:
RAFAEL's systems can also greatly increase the survivability
of submarines.
SCUTTER is a unique, sophisticated reactive
expendable torpedo decoy that covers the entire frequency
band of torpedoes and has very high transmission source levels.
HELSEA is a buoy connected to the submarine
by a com link, providing helicopter detection and identification
capability.
The C-Pearl-S ESM/ELINT system is based on
the surface ship ESM. With its high DF accuracy and ELINT
capability, the system supplies the submarine with excellent
situation awareness in combat and peace time conditions.
